on trends in the markets

Trend is your friend

until it makes a turn.......

so true, but in the long run I really believe in riding the trend to make my trading a profitable one. I can not trade with a short time span. I am a position trader and as such I need to ride trends. It is impossible to sell at the high or buy the bottom. I focus on getting the middle part of a large trend. These trends can last a few days or more likely several weeks.

Just ride the wave

on the matter of life coach or motivational speakers

I know and appreciate some famous motivational speakers. I also understand why some people may need such "push" or encouragement from time to time. I do appreciate it but one really should be very careful as to where one gets such advice or help.

If I want to learn to swim, I would like to be taught by someone who can swim very well. Not some geek that studied mechanics of swimming by reading a book.

So why do people listen or rely on some dick who has not achieved much in professional life? I think it is a fraud. I mean, posing as some "guru" when you have no valid credentials to be talking about business or success in business environment.

C'mon! I get approached to talk about trading or mentor people. I decline. My reasons are 1) I am not a teacher, 2) I am not successful 3) I don't deserve to be paid to do something I am not qualified to do and finally 4) if you think you need help in this regard as in getting motivated, you should quit.

Motivation should come from within you. My motivation to trade everyday (well, sort of) comes from deep inside. My passion for markets or rather what a success in the markets can bring me. Once I feel the desire NOT to do so, it is time for me to quit and try something else like lecturing people on something I have no experience of and become an academic or something!!

Well, it is a free world. One is free to get fleeced by these fraudulent wannabes and listen to their BS!!

Only wish these "victims" would trade against me so I can make money. hehehehehe

Ray Dalio - Bridgewater

This is a must read for anyone who wants to be successful. Forget some bullshit blog written by those who just commentate or criticize. What is the point in reading stuff written by some pencil pusher who has never achieved anything big?? Here is a guy who has done extremely well sharing his thoughts.

Ray Dalio, if you do not know him is perhaps one of the most successful hedge fund manager living.
Here he shares some thoughts on his principles and it is well worth spending an hour or two reading and digesting what he has to say.

some valuable advice from Warren Buffett

"I always knew I was going to be rich. I don't think I ever doubted it for a minute"
- Warren Buffett

Buffett bought his first share at age 11 and he now regrets that he started too late!
- Things were very cheap that time. Encourage your children to invest

He bought a small farm at age 14 with savings from delivering newspapers.
- One could have bought many things with little savings
- Encourage your children to start some kind of business

He still lives in the same small 3-bedroom house in mid-town Omaha, that he bought after he got married 50 years ago. He says that he has everything he needs in that house. His house does not have a wall or a fence.
-don't buy more than you "really need" and encourage your children to do the same and think the same.

He drives his own car everywhere and does not have a driver or security people around him.
- you are what you are

He never travels by private jet, although he owns the world's largest private jet company.
-Always think how you can accomplish things economically.

His company, Berkshire Hathaway, owns 63 companies. He writes only one letter each year to the CEOs of these companies, giving them goals for the year. He never holds meetings or calls them on a regular basis.
-Assign the right people to the right jobs.

He has given his CEO's only two rules.
Rule number 1: do not lose any of your shareholder's money.
Rule number 2: Do not forget rule number 1
-set goals and make sure people focus on them

He does not socialise with the high society crowd. His past time after he gets home is to make himself some pop corn and watch TV
-don't try to show off, just be yourself and do what you enjoy doing

Buffett does not carry a cell phone, nor has a computer on his desk.

Buffett's advice to young people
Stay away from credit cards (bank loans) and invest in yourself and remember
a. money doesn't create man but it is the man who created money
b. live your life as simple as you are
c. don't do what others say, just listen to them, but do what you feel good.
d. don't go on brand name; just wear those things in which you feel comfortable.
e. don't waste your money on unnecessary things; just spend on them who really in need rather
f. after all it's your life then why give chance to others to rule your life.

The happiest people do not necessarily have the best things. They simply appreciate the things they have.

EURUSD Crossover Chart

Trend Following at its best perhaps?
